GATX Rail Germany freight team completed a successful handover of 15 T3000e intermodal railcars to its new customer, Samskip. Samskip is known for cost-effective, pan-European, environmentally responsible combined transport services via shortsea, road, rail, and inland waterway routes. With operational excellence and best practice in sustainable transport, it has found an excellent match.
Samskip will employ the T3000e railcars for their high frequency service routes for intermodal traffic between Germany and Sweden, thereby expanding their rail service network. Alieke van Zuthem, Rail Operations Manager at Samskip said, “We are delighted to start working with GATX Rail Europe as a supplier of intermodal railcars in order to further expand the trailer capacity on our rail network between Duisburg and Sweden and team up in our joint efforts to make green logistics easy.”
Julian Madsen, Key Account Manager at GATX Rail Europe agreed. “We welcome Samskip as our newest customer,” Madsen said “I am particularly happy that we have found a new partner with very similar goals to ours. Together we are working towards the common goal of establishing and expanding sustainable and green logistics chains. For us at GATX Rail Europe, the new partnership is an important step to expand our activities in the BeNeLux area.”
